Delivering Across the Intermountain West

Salt Lake IBC operates its own fleet of delivery vehicles from our 25,000-square-foot facility in Woods Cross, UT 84087. We deliver reconditioned and new IBC totes, pick up used containers, and provide scheduled logistics services to businesses throughout Utah and the surrounding states.

Our central location along the I-15 corridor puts us within a day's drive of every major business hub in the region. From Boise to Denver, from Twin Falls to Las Vegas, we reach the customers other IBC suppliers cannot efficiently serve.

Unlike brokers who rely on third-party carriers, we control our own trucks and drivers. That means predictable scheduling, careful handling of your containers, and direct communication with the people actually making the delivery.

Freight Class & Shipping Rates

IBC totes are classified as Freight Class 150-175 depending on whether they are empty or full, and their density on the truck. Empty reconditioned IBCs stacked two-high on a flatbed achieve very efficient freight density, which keeps per-unit shipping costs low even for long-distance deliveries.

Our delivery pricing is simpler than traditional freight. Instead of complex freight class calculations, we price deliveries per unit based on the distance zone and whether the delivery rides on a shared scheduled route or a dedicated truck. This makes your total delivered cost predictable and easy to budget.

For deliveries outside our standard 5-state area, we work with established LTL (less than truckload) and FTL (full truckload) carriers. We handle the freight booking, palletizing, and loading at our dock. You receive a single invoice from us covering containers plus freight -- no separate carrier bills to manage.

Delivery Pricing Guide

Delivery pricing is based on three factors: distance from our facility, number of containers, and delivery model (scheduled vs. dedicated).

We operate a range of vehicles purpose-matched to different order sizes and delivery requirements.

Flatbed Trucks (26-ft)

Our flatbed trucks are the workhorses of bulk IBC delivery. They accommodate full palletized loads and allow forklift loading and unloading from either side. Ideal for deliveries to facilities with loading docks or yard access.

Specifications:

  • GVWR: 26,000 lbs
  • 26-foot bed length

  • Enclosed cargo area
  • Weather-protected loads

GPS Tracking & Real-Time Updates

Every truck in our fleet is equipped with GPS tracking. When your delivery is dispatched, you receive a notification with an estimated arrival window. For dedicated deliveries, we can provide real-time tracking updates so you know exactly when your containers will arrive.

GPS tracking also helps us optimize routes in real time. If a road closure, construction zone, or weather event affects the planned route, our dispatch team can reroute the driver and update your estimated delivery time accordingly. This is especially valuable during winter months when mountain passes in Utah, Wyoming, and Colorado can be affected by snow and ice.

For recurring delivery customers, we use historical GPS data to refine route scheduling and identify the most efficient delivery windows for your location. Over time, this data helps us reduce delivery costs and improve on-time performance.

Insurance Coverage During Transit

All containers in transit on our trucks are covered by our commercial auto and cargo insurance policies. We carry the following coverage:

Commercial Auto Liability
$1,000,000 per occurrence
Covers third-party injury and property damage
Cargo Insurance
$100,000 per load
Covers damage to your containers during transit
General Liability
$2,000,000 aggregate
Covers our operations at your facility during loading/unloading
Workers Compensation
Statutory limits
All drivers and crew fully covered

In the unlikely event of transit damage, we replace affected containers at no cost. Certificates of insurance are available upon request for your procurement files.

Loading & Unloading Services

Our delivery is full-service. Every truck carries the equipment needed to load and unload IBCs at your site without requiring you to provide any material handling equipment. Here is what each delivery includes:

Driver unloads all containers at your designated staging area
Pallet jack included on every truck for ground-level positioning
Liftgate service for sites without loading docks
Forklift operation available for dock-height deliveries
Containers placed where you specify (dock, yard, warehouse)
All strapping, blankets, and securing materials provided
Empty pallets removed or stacked neatly as requested

Return Logistics for Empty IBCs

Many of our customers operate a closed-loop system where they receive clean IBCs, fill them with product, ship them to their customers, and then need the empty containers collected and returned for reconditioning. We provide the return logistics to complete this cycle.

Our most efficient model is the swap delivery: we deliver clean IBCs and pick up empties on the same trip. This eliminates the need for a separate pickup visit, reduces truck trips, and saves you money. Swap deliveries are available on all scheduled routes and can be set up as a recurring service.

For customers whose empty IBCs accumulate at a different location than where they receive deliveries (for example, a manufacturer who ships filled IBCs to distribution centers), we coordinate multi-point pickup routes. We collect empties from your distribution points and return them to our facility for cleaning, then deliver freshly reconditioned containers back to your production site.

Seasonal Delivery Considerations

Utah and the Intermountain West present unique seasonal challenges for freight delivery. Here is how we plan around them to keep your deliveries on schedule.

Winter (Dec-Feb)

Challenges

Snow and ice on I-80 (Parley's Canyon, Wyoming), I-70 (Colorado mountain passes), and I-15 (northern Utah). Chains may be required.

Our Strategy

We chain up trucks proactively for mountain routes. Deliveries to high-elevation areas are scheduled for midday when roads are clearest. Winter-rated tires on all vehicles. Backup dates provided for weather-sensitive routes.

Spring (Mar-May)

Challenges

Mud season on unpaved facility access roads. Spring runoff can flood low-lying areas. Rapidly increasing demand for IBCs as agricultural season begins.

Our Strategy

Confirm site access conditions before dispatch. Early ordering recommended as inventory moves fast. Extended hours to handle spring volume surge.

Summer (Jun-Aug)

Challenges

Extreme heat (100°F+) in Nevada and southern Utah. HDPE can soften in prolonged direct sun. Peak demand period with highest volume.

Our Strategy

IBCs are loaded at dawn for long-distance desert routes. Covered transport for heat-sensitive loads. Advance ordering strongly recommended for peak season.

Fall (Sep-Nov)

Challenges

Early mountain snow possible by October. Harvest season creates competing freight demand in agricultural areas. Shorter daylight hours for late deliveries.

Our Strategy

Flexible routing for early-season weather. Priority given to agricultural customers during harvest. Last deliveries dispatched earlier to accommodate shorter days.

Scheduling & Delivery Models

We offer three delivery models to fit different operational needs. Most customers choose the option that best balances cost, speed, and predictability for their particular situation.

Scheduled Routes

Join one of our weekly regional routes for the lowest per-unit delivery cost. We run set routes through each delivery zone on designated days. Your order rides along with other deliveries in the same area, spreading the freight cost across multiple customers.

Best for: Regular orders that are not time-sensitive

Dedicated Delivery

Book a truck exclusively for your order. You choose the date and time window. Dedicated deliveries cost more than scheduled routes but give you full control over timing. Ideal for large orders or time-critical needs.

Best for: Large or urgent orders

Customer Pickup

Drive to our Woods Cross yard and load up. Zero delivery cost. Our forklift operator will load your trailer or truck bed. Pickup is available Monday through Friday, 7 AM to 5 PM, and Saturdays by appointment.

Best for: Local businesses with transport capability

Safe Handling Guaranteed

Secure Strapping

Every IBC is individually strapped and secured to prevent shifting during transport. We use ratchet straps rated for the full weight of a loaded container.

Trained Drivers

All drivers hold CDL licenses where required and are trained in forklift operation, load securing, and customer site safety protocols.

Insurance Coverage

All deliveries are covered by our commercial auto and cargo insurance policies. In the unlikely event of transit damage, we replace affected containers at no cost.

Delivery Confirmation

Every delivery includes a signed delivery receipt documenting the quantity, condition, and time of delivery. Digital copies are emailed to you the same day.
