Keep Your IBCs Running at Peak Performance

An IBC tote is only as good as its fittings. A worn gasket causes leaks. A corroded valve stalls your production line. A missing dust cap allows contamination. At Salt Lake IBC, we carry a full line of replacement parts and upgrade accessories to keep your containers functioning safely and efficiently.

All of our accessories are compatible with standard composite IBCs from major manufacturers including Schütz, Mauser, Greif, and others. We stock common parts for immediate pickup at our Woods Cross facility and can special-order hard-to-find components with typical lead times of 3-7 business days.

Valves & Dispensing

The valve is the most frequently replaced component on an IBC. We carry all standard types in food-grade polypropylene and stainless steel.

Butterfly Valves

  • 2" (50mm) standard size, fits all composite IBCs
  • Polypropylene body with EPDM seals
  • Quarter-turn operation for quick open/close
  • Best for: water, thin liquids, cleaning solutions
  • Flow rate: ~40 GPM at full open
  • Temperature range: 14°F to 176°F

The most common IBC valve. Included standard on most new and reconditioned totes. Affordable and easy to replace.

Ball Valves

  • 2" (50mm) full-bore design, NPS thread
  • Polypropylene or stainless steel body
  • PTFE seats for chemical compatibility
  • Best for: viscous liquids, oils, syrups, thick chemicals
  • Flow rate: ~50 GPM (larger bore than butterfly)
  • Temperature range: -4°F to 250°F (SS)

Preferred when higher flow rates or chemical resistance is needed. Better for thick/viscous products that can clog butterfly valves.

Cam Lock Fittings

The fastest way to connect and disconnect hoses to your IBC. Essential for operations that fill or drain IBCs frequently.

Spigots & Taps

  • Threaded to fit standard 2" IBC outlets
  • Polypropylene with lever handle
  • Gravity-fed dispensing for low-flow use
  • Best for: hand washing, garden watering, small fills
  • Available with hose barb adapters
  • Food-grade materials available

Simple, affordable solution for gravity dispensing. Popular with garden, farm, and homestead IBC users.

Valve Adapters

  • S60x6 to NPS 2" thread adapters
  • S60x6 to garden hose (3/4" GHT)
  • NPS 2" to 1" reducer fittings
  • Tri-clamp to NPS adapters
  • Polypropylene or stainless steel
  • Custom adapters available by request

Essential for connecting IBCs to existing plumbing, hoses, pumps, and equipment with different thread standards.

Dust Caps & Plugs

  • 2" (50mm) threaded dust caps
  • Polypropylene with EPDM O-ring
  • Protects valve outlet during storage/transport
  • Prevents contamination and insect entry
  • Reusable, UV-resistant material
  • Available in packs of 10 or 25

A small but critical accessory. Every IBC in storage or transit should have a dust cap on the outlet to prevent contamination.

Lids, Caps & Gaskets

A proper seal starts at the top. We carry replacement lids and gaskets for all standard IBC configurations.

6" Screw Caps

Standard 150mm screw caps in polypropylene. Fits most 275-gallon and 330-gallon IBCs. Includes EPDM gasket for leak-proof seal. Thread pattern: coarse buttress thread.

8" Screw Caps

Larger 225mm opening caps for wide-mouth IBCs. Used for products requiring wider fill access or pour-in loading. Same thread style as 6" but larger diameter.

Lid Gaskets

Replacement EPDM gaskets for 6" and 8" IBC lids. These gaskets wear over time and should be replaced if you notice any leakage around the lid seal. Sold individually or in packs of 10.

Valve Gaskets

Replacement EPDM and PTFE gaskets for butterfly and ball valves. The most common wear item on an IBC. We replace these on every reconditioned unit and recommend annual replacement for active IBCs.

Installation Guides

Step-by-step instructions for the most common IBC accessory installations. Most of these can be done in minutes with basic tools.

Replacing a Butterfly Valve

Easy5-10 minutesTools: No tools required (hand-tight)
  1. 1Ensure the IBC is empty or the valve is closed and a catch container is placed below.
  2. 2Unscrew the existing valve by turning counterclockwise. The S60x6 thread will release after several full turns.
  3. 3Remove the old gasket from the valve seat on the IBC bottle neck. Clean the threads and seat area.
  4. 4Place the new EPDM gasket on the new valve (pre-installed on most replacement valves).
  5. 5Thread the new valve into the bottle neck by turning clockwise. Hand-tighten firmly. Do not use tools or over-torque.
  6. 6Test by filling the IBC with a small amount of water and checking for drips. Re-tighten if needed.

Installing a Cam Lock Adapter

Easy5 minutesTools: No tools required
  1. 1Remove the existing valve or dust cap from the IBC outlet.
  2. 2Thread the cam lock adapter onto the IBC outlet. Most adapters have S60x6 female threads on one end.
  3. 3Hand-tighten firmly. Wrap threads with PTFE tape first if you want extra leak protection.
  4. 4Attach your cam lock hose coupling to the adapter. Pull the cam arms into the locked position.
  5. 5Test the connection under pressure by opening the IBC valve (if upstream) and checking for leaks at all joints.

Replacing a Lid Gasket

Easy2-5 minutesTools: Flathead screwdriver (optional, to pry old gasket)
  1. 1Unscrew the IBC lid completely and set aside.
  2. 2Locate the gasket in the groove on the underside of the lid. Peel or pry it out. Old gaskets may be stuck.
  3. 3Clean the gasket groove with a damp cloth. Remove any debris or residue.
  4. 4Press the new gasket into the groove, ensuring it seats evenly all the way around without twists or gaps.
  5. 5Replace the lid on the IBC and tighten to hand-tight plus a quarter turn. The gasket should compress evenly.
  6. 6Fill with a small amount of water and tip the IBC slightly to check for lid seal integrity.

Setting Up a Heating Blanket

Moderate15-20 minutesTools: None (blanket wraps around IBC inside cage)
  1. 1Ensure the IBC is on a flat, stable surface. The heating blanket installs inside the steel cage, wrapping around the HDPE bottle.
  2. 2Open the cage latches on one side of the IBC to create access to the bottle surface.
  3. 3Drape the heating blanket around the bottle, positioning it so the heating elements cover as much surface area as possible.
  4. 4Secure the blanket using the built-in straps or Velcro closures. The blanket should be snug but not compressing the bottle excessively.
  5. 5Route the power cord through the cage opening and close the cage latches.
  6. 6Connect to an appropriate power source (120V or 240V depending on model). Set the thermostat to your desired temperature.
  7. 7Allow 4-8 hours for the blanket to bring the full IBC contents to temperature. Monitor with a thermometer initially.

Heating & Insulation

Utah winters can be brutal on liquid products stored outdoors. Our heating blankets and insulation jackets protect your IBCs from freezing and keep viscous products flowing.

IBC Heating Blankets

Electric heating blankets wrap around the IBC bottle inside the cage frame, providing uniform heat distribution to prevent freezing or maintain optimal viscosity for dispensing. They are the most effective solution for cold-weather IBC storage and are essential for any Utah business storing liquids outdoors between November and March.

  • Available in 120V and 240V configurations
  • Adjustable thermostat (40°F to 160°F)
  • Full-wrap design covers all four sides of the bottle
  • Rated for outdoor use with weather-resistant connectors
  • Power consumption: 1,400-2,000 watts depending on model
  • UL listed and CSA certified
  • Compatible with 275-gallon and 330-gallon IBCs

Insulation Jackets

Insulation jackets are passive thermal barriers that slow heat loss (or gain) from your IBC contents. They're ideal for maintaining temperature without the ongoing energy cost of a heating blanket, or as a complement to a blanket for maximum efficiency.

  • Multi-layer construction: outer weather shell + insulation core
  • R-value: approximately R-5 to R-8 depending on model
  • Full-coverage design wraps top, sides, and bottom
  • Zippered access to valve and lid for operation without removal
  • UV-resistant outer shell for extended outdoor use
  • Reusable across multiple IBCs, machine washable cover
  • Available for 275-gallon and 330-gallon IBCs
