New IBC Totes
Brand-new intermediate bulk containers for applications requiring virgin materials, UN certification, or manufacturer warranty coverage.
When New Is Necessary
While we believe reconditioned IBCs are the right choice for most applications, there are legitimate situations where a brand-new container is required. Certain regulatory frameworks, customer contracts, and product specifications mandate virgin containers with documented chain-of-custody provenance.
New IBCs come with a UN/DOT performance rating that certifies them for the transport of regulated hazardous materials. This certification is tied to the original manufacturer and cannot be transferred to a reconditioned unit. If you ship products classified under 49 CFR (Department of Transportation hazardous materials regulations), you may be legally required to use new, certified containers.
Pharmaceutical and certain food-grade applications may also require virgin HDPE bottles with no prior-use history. In these cases, a new IBC with documented material traceability is the only compliant option. Our new IBCs come with full material certificates of conformity upon request.
Even when you buy new from Salt Lake IBC, you're still supporting a sustainable supply chain. We'll buy the IBC back from you when you're done with it, recondition it, and give it a second life — so your new purchase becomes someone else's eco-friendly reconditioned tote down the road.

Warranty & Certification
All new IBCs sold by Salt Lake IBC carry the original manufacturer's warranty, which typically covers defects in materials and workmanship for a period of 12 months from the date of manufacture or 6 months from the date of first fill, whichever comes first.
Warranty coverage includes: bottle cracking or failure under normal use, cage weld failures, pallet structural defects, and valve assembly defects. Warranty does not cover: damage from impact, overloading, chemical incompatibility, UV degradation from unprotected outdoor storage, or modifications made after purchase.
New IBCs are shipped with their UN/DOT performance rating label intact. This label certifies that the container has been tested and approved for the transport of dangerous goods as specified in 49 CFR Part 178. The rating is valid for the container's first fill cycle only. Subsequent uses may require retesting per applicable regulations.
